    Mudroom Reno Project

    May 29, 2018 /

The mudroom is one of the most overlooked places in most people’s homes. Our mudroom functions as the passageway between the garage and the kitchen, and also is our laundry room. Naturally, we collect everything you could think of in there: beach towels, vacuums, cleaning agents, sneakers, shoes, boots, tote bags, cold weather accessories, etc.  It’s the center of our chaos on the way out in the morning, and welcomes the aftermath of our day on the way in. So a mudroom renovation was needed! Above are photos from before the mudroom renovation. I’m not sure what the original builder’s intention was with the design of the mudroom closet, but it’s…

    Rainy Days with Toddlers

    May 22, 2018 /

Ever plan out a fun day outdoors and then here comes the rain to ruin everything? Especially when you have toddler, inclement weather can be a terrible start to the day. However, did you know that rainy days can be an awesome sensory adventure for your little one? Here I go throwing some occupational therapy jargon in there…”sensory”? Sensory meaning some or all of the 5 senses are being stimulated by an activity. Babies and toddlers learn SOOOO much through sensory play,  by way of touch, smell, sight, hearing and taste. As an occupational therapist, we’re always looking at different play activities as a opportunities for a child to explore…

Mothers Day Reflection: How Motherhood Has Changed Me

    May 13, 2018 /

Parents always tell other expecting parents the cliche phrase, “Your life will never be the same”. This statement could not be more true. I could give a laundry list of ways that our lives have changed since March 1, 2016 when we first became parents to Chase. However, I’ll refrain from that because ain’t nobody got time for all that. So instead, I reflected on the top 3 ways it has changed me. I pray more. Now do I get down on my knees every hour and close my eyes? No. But I do talk to God randomly throughout the day about my worries: for my children, for my husband,…

You’ve Got This, Mama- Book Launch and Review

    May 9, 2018 /

The Author Last night I had the pleasure of attending a book launch and mama-pampering night at Drybar in Downtown DC.  Andrea Faulkner Williams, is the co-founder of Tubby Todd Bath Co. based in San Diego and now the author of her second book, You’ve Got this Mama– Ideas for Taking Care of Yourself While You’re Taking Care of Your Little One. She is a mama to three, and started her baby bath product business with her husband. She reached out to me with an invite me to the event, and there was no way I was going to miss it. I cleared my schedule for that night, left the…
